Dr Geoff met Alex in 2013, attached to a ventilator doing a passable impression of a dying man. After explaining to Alex's friends and family they should say goodbye he was delighted to be proven wrong by this remarkable man. Now he has the honour of joining this expedition as "The Doctor".
